Botox^®

Botox® is one of the most popular cosmetic procedures at our spa. This is a great treatment for those looking for a way to improve the appearance of wrinkles and to prevent additional wrinkles from forming!

Botox® is actually a trade name for the neurotoxic protein called botulinum toxin. It works by relaxing the contraction of muscles by temporarily blocking nerve impulses, which results in softened and relaxed wrinkles. Botox® can be used to act as a much less invasive face- lift, treating crow’s feet, frown lines, forehead wrinkles, and thick bands in the neck. Botox® has also been utilized to treat excessive sweating, migraine headaches, and involuntary muscles spasms.

A Botox® injection is a very simple, non-surgical procedure that usually takes 10-30 minutes, depending on the amount of Botox® injected and the number of desired areas to be treated. Microdermabrasion

Palomar Medical –Maximize your results!

Do you desire clear skin, free of pigment inconsistencies and unwanted hair? Whether you desire a décolleté free of sunspots, smooth legs, or to banish the appearance of leg veins, Palomar Systems utilize specialized handpieces that filter light from different parts of spectrum in order to target your problem areas.

Palomar treatments are designed for use on the upper lip, face, neck, underarms, bikini line, legs, chest, and back. Since Palomar Pulsed Light Systems use a much larger treatment window than most lasers, the light is spread over a wider area of skin, resulting quicker treatments.

Palomar treatments are administered by moving a handpiece over your skin as it pulses. Each pulse sends a beam of light through your skin, producing a flashing light and a mild sensation on the skin.

Just after treatment, expect a mild sunburn-like sensation, lasting between 2 and 24 hours. Treated hair will continue to appear for 7-30 days after your treatment- but this isn’t new hair growth! Rather, this is the process of the hair being expelled from the skin. Since not all of your hair is in the same phase of active growth at any given time, multiple treatments will be necessary to achieve permanent hair reduction.

Photo Dynamic Therapy

There is a medical treatment that harnesses the power of a photosensitizing drug and a concentrated light source to treat acne, rosacea, and even precancerous cells! This procedure is easily performed as an outpatient procedure at Pearl Medspa.

First, a light-sensitizing liquid or cream is applied, followed by an incubation period. Then, the targeted area is exposed to a specific wavelength of light in order to activate the light-sensitive medication.

Dilation of blood vessels are the result of weakened elastic fibers in the walls of the blood vessel, and are often associated with excessive sun exposure, normal aging, liver disease, genetics, radiation therapy, and trauma. Since visible veins are most frequently the result of sun damage, regular use of sunscreen may be able to prevent their appearance. Visible veins often appear on women in their 40’s-50’s, and are most commonly seen on fair skinned women.
